Personal favorites:
1. Blueberry from Stash Premium.
Blueberries are a yummy source of vitamin C, dietary fiber, and also contain high levels of antioxidants called anthocyanidins, which are responsible for its color as well as its health effects. The same benefits can be found in blueberry tea.
2. Country Peach Passion from Celestial Seasonings. Honestly love this tea as a sweet fruity drink. It is not as fruity, like the blueberry, but not too sweet as the licorice.
3. Get Gorgeous from Be Well Red Teas (it’s the pink tin). As their tag line goes: an “organic, rooibos-based, naturally caffeine-free tea blend is brimming with antioxidants – your skin’s best friend”. I enjoy it best with a little honey.
4. Licorice Spice from Stash Premium. Not to be confused with the licorice candy. This is licorice root, and has a very sweet aftertaste. I am often complimented on how good it smells. Much of the sweetness in licorice comes from glycyrrhizin, a compound sweeter than sugar.
5. Mint Medley from Bigelow. Both spearmint and peppermint are common digestive aids, though spearmint is not used as common in tea. Peppermint naturally calms and relaxes the intestines, so it is often advised to people (like me) with symptoms similar to IBS. It smells wonderful.
6. White Earl Gray from Teavana. Normally early gray tea is a black tea, and too high in caffeine for me to drink. Thankfully there is a white variation of the blend, and I can enjoy my “distinctively flavored” tea whenever I want. Earl gray is best enjoyed on a dark and rainy day.
*all are either very low caffeine or caffeine free
